Founded in London in 2023, ARMAREX makes everyday garments built around quality craftsmanship and a distinctive aesthetic, drawing on technical outdoor wear, workwear, and vintage athletic references. The brand has grown as an internet-first operation since day one, selling direct to customers across the UK and internationally.
As the range has expanded, so has the operational complexity behind it. We sat down with Umayr, Founder of ARMAREX, to hear how Zenstores and PostCo together cover both ends of the fulfilment picture.
Shipping built around the order, not the other way round
ARMAREX's range spans everything from lightweight socks and beanies to bulky jackets and bags which means no two orders are quite the same when it comes to packaging and carrier selection. Add in multiple shipping destinations, and manually working out the right carrier and service for each order isn't just slow, it's a risk.
Zenstores uses Shipping Rules to take those decisions off the team entirely. Shipping Rules apply the correct carrier and service to each order as it comes in, based on criteria like weight, destination, and what's in the order.
For ARMAREX, that means Royal Mail going out to UK customers and DHL Express picking up international orders, without anyone on the warehouse team having to make that call each time.
"Zenstores lets us run Royal Mail and DHL Express smoothly in one place. Shipping Rules apply the right services automatically based on what's in the order and where it's going, particularly helpful for us as the number of SKUs we have grows. It also saves our warehouse team a lot of time as they're not entering orders into three different carrier portals or working out the packaging themselves."
Putting returns in the customer's hands
PostCo gives ecommerce brands a branded, self-serve returns portal that takes the admin out of the process entirely. Customers initiate returns or exchanges themselves, receive a label automatically, and can opt to swap for a different size or a higher value product rather than taking a refund.
"Returns and exchanges were taking up a lot of customer service time as our business grew, which wasn't sustainable. PostCo made it self-serve, so the customer registers the return or exchange themselves and gets a label, and we only get involved if something goes wrong.
The main thing for us is exchanges. If someone has ordered the wrong size, the portal turns it into a swap rather than a refund, so we keep the sale and the customer gets the right product. The main thing that made us choose PostCo over other options was the customisable branding features it allows you to have on your returns portal."
One loop, closed
The real value of using both platforms together shows up when an exchange order is placed. Rather than running a separate process, exchange orders flow from PostCo back into Shopify and straight through to Zenstores, where they're treated exactly like any other outbound order.
"They cover the two ends of the same thing. PostCo deals with what comes back and Zenstores deals with what goes out, with Shopify in the middle.
When a customer books an exchange on PostCo, the replacement order comes back into Shopify and then feeds through to Zenstores, where it gets picked, labelled and shipped on the same rules as a normal order. So we're not running a separate process for exchanges, they just go out like any other order. Zenstores allows for rules to be created which filter exchange orders to go into the right sections at the right time throughout the exchange process."
