Why teams use this automation

Personalised orders arrive in the same list as standard orders. If they're picked with everything else, a packer can ship an item before the customisation is done, or set it aside and lose track of it. Zenstores separates them as they're imported, so your customisation team works from one list. When an order is done, they tag it complete and it moves to New, ready to pick and pack with the rest.

Who's this automation for?

This automation suits any brand that sells made-to-order or personalised products, especially:

  • Gift brands offering engraving, embroidery or printed names
  • Jewellery and accessories brands with initials or messages
  • Brands with a separate customisation step or workshop
  • Teams that currently pull personalised orders out of the pick list by hand

How this automation works

  1. The order is imported

A personalised order is imported to Zenstores from your connected store, with the SKU or order notes that show it needs customising.

  2. Zenstores moves it to the On Hold tab

Orders with a custom SKU or personalisation notes move to the On Hold tab with a Customisation tag. They stay out of the pick list, and your customisation team can see every order waiting on them in one place.

  3. Zenstores moves it to New when it's done

When the customisation is complete, your team tags the order Customisation complete. Zenstores removes the Customisation tag and moves the order to New, where it's picked, packed and labelled like any other order.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I stop personalised orders from being packed too early?

Set up an Automation that moves orders with a custom SKU or personalisation notes to the On Hold tab as they're imported. They stay out of the pick list until your team marks the customisation complete.

How does Zenstores know an order needs customising?

From the order data imported from your store, such as a SKU that contains CUSTOM or personalisation details in the order notes. If your store or personalisation app saves the details somewhere else on the order, Zenstores can map that too.

How does an order move on once it's customised?

Your team adds a Customisation complete tag. A second rule removes the Customisation tag and moves the order to New, ready to pick and pack.

Can I hold some personalised products and not others?

Yes. Add conditions for the SKUs or product types that need customising, and other products in the order flow through as normal.
