Why teams use this automation
Subscription payments are often taken on the same day for every member. The orders arrive in one wave and sit in the same list as today's one-off orders, so your team has to pick out the daily orders by hand before they can start packing. Zenstores holds the subscription orders as they're imported. Daily orders carry on as normal, and the subscription run ships on the date you planned for it.
Who's this automation for?
This automation suits any brand that sells subscriptions alongside one-off orders, especially:
- Subscription box brands with a monthly or quarterly run
- Food and drink brands with repeat product subscriptions
- Brands that take every subscription payment on the same day
- Teams that currently filter subscription orders out of the daily list by hand
How this automation works
- The order is imported
A subscription order is imported to Zenstores from your connected store, with the subscription tag your store or subscription app adds to it.
- Zenstores moves it to the On Hold tab
Orders tagged as a subscription move to the On Hold tab with a Subscription tag. They stay out of the daily pick list, and your team can see the whole subscription run in one place.
- Zenstores releases it on fulfilment day
On your scheduled fulfilment date, Zenstores releases the subscription orders to Ready to ship. Your team picks, packs and labels the run as one batch, separate from the daily orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I stop subscription orders from shipping early?
Set up an Automation that moves subscription-tagged orders to the On Hold tab as they're imported. They stay out of the pick list until the release rule moves them to Ready to ship on your scheduled fulfilment date.
How does Zenstores know an order is a subscription?
From the tags on the order. Subscription apps such as Recharge, Skio, Loop and Bold Subscriptions tag orders as they're created, for example with Subscription or Recurring. If your app tags orders differently, Zenstores can map those tags too.
Can I separate new subscribers from recurring ones?
Yes. Use separate tags for new and recurring subscription orders and add a condition for each, so first boxes and repeat boxes can be handled differently.
Can my team release subscription orders early?
Yes. Any order in the On Hold tab can be released by hand, for example to start packing the run a day sooner.
What happens to one-off orders on subscription day?
They carry on as normal. Only orders that match the subscription tags move to the On Hold tab.
