Why teams use this automation

Packing is quick. The screen work after it isn't. Finding the order, booking the label, sending it to the right printer and marking it dispatched adds clicks to every parcel, and on a busy day those clicks add up. Scan to Ship turns all of it into one scan, so your packer keeps their hands on the parcel and the next order is ready sooner.

Who's this automation for?

This automation suits any team packing at a dedicated station, especially:

  • Teams shipping high volumes from one or more packing benches
  • Warehouses with a printer at each packing station
  • Teams already using order number barcodes on pick lists or dispatch notes
  • Teams that currently book and print labels by hand after packing

How this automation works

  1. Your packer scans the order barcode

Once the parcel is packed, your packer scans the order barcode on the pick list or dispatch note.

  2. Zenstores books and prints the label

Zenstores books the label with the carrier and service set on the order, then prints it at that packing station using the Zenstores AutoPrint app.

  3. Zenstores marks the order dispatched

The order is marked dispatched and tracking is sent back to your sales channel. Your packer labels the parcel and moves on to the next one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book, print and dispatch an order with one scan?

Set up an Automation that runs when an order barcode is scanned. Add actions to book the label, print it at the station and mark the order dispatched.

What do I need to print at each station?

A label printer at each packing station and the Zenstores AutoPrint app, so labels print straight to the printer at the station where the order was scanned.

Where does the order barcode come from?

From the pick list or dispatch note printed from Zenstores. Each order number is printed as a barcode your packer can scan.

Which carrier and service does it book?

The carrier and service already on the order, usually set by your carrier selection rules when the order is imported.
